Unlocking Your Home's Hidden Secrets: Our 5-Step Thermal Imaging Process
At Ignite Property Group, we know that understanding home thermal imaging isn’t simple. That’s why we’ve created a step-by-step guide to explain our thermal imaging inspection process, from your initial booking to our detailed report. Our goal is clear: to provide actionable insights to help you identify insulation issues and energy inefficiencies, so you can make informed decisions about improving your home’s energy performance.

Step 1: Book Your Appointment
Ready to start saving? Use our online booking form to start the process of your survey. Winter and cooler days in the transitional seasons, autumn and spring, have the best conditions for thermal imaging and we would recommend you aim for these dates. Our team will reach out to schedule the best time for you.

Step 2: Prepare Your Home
To ensure accurate results, on the day of your survey we ask you to heat your home as high as possible beforehand and keep windows and doors closed. Doing this creates the largest temperature difference between the outside and inside of your home, providing the most effective survey results.

Step 3: The Survey
Our technician will carry out a detailed infrared scan of your home’s interior and exterior, including windows, doors, floors, walls and electrical systems, to detect issues such as heat loss, air leaks, moisture or damp and electrical hotspots, to pinpoint issues like:
- Heat loss and drafts: Where warm air is escaping.
- Air leaks: Unwanted gaps letting cold air in.
- Hidden moisture or damp: Often invisible to the naked eye.
- Electrical hotspots: Potential safety concerns.

Step 4: The Report
Within 48 hours, you’ll receive a comprehensive thermal imaging report complete with thermal images and clear explanations of the findings. You can download an example report here to help you understand what’s included and what insights you will gain.

Step 5: Recommendation
This is where the magic happened! We’ll outline the specific next steps to improve your home’s energy efficiency, from insulation upgrades to sealing solutions, along with how Ignite Property Group can support you through the process. For example, if your home is losing heat from the roof, we can talk you through the loft insulation options we provide.
From your initial enquiry to delivering tailored energy-saving solutions, Ignite Property Group offers a complete thermal imaging service to help maximise your home’s insulation performance. Book your professional thermal imaging survey today to uncover your house’s hidden heat loss, insulation gaps and energy inefficiencies, so we can help make your home warmer, greener and more energy efficient.
